We are looking for long-term employees who are passionate creative people interested in the betterment of young people’s lives through the performing arts.

It is our goal at Great Lakes Dance Academy to motivate and challenge every student, whether their goals are fun and physical fitness or a career in the performing arts. We strive to instill a passion for the performing arts while providing students with proper technical dance training. We encourage teamwork and promote skills that will help them succeed in other aspects of their lives.
 

Dance Instructors

 

Position #1

We are accepting resumes for guest teachers and choreographers for summer 2022 programs and intensives. Please send resume and cover letter to tia@greatlakesdanceacademy.com. Include "Summer Teaching Employment" in the subject line. In your cover letter include what styles of dance you are interested in teaching and your availability. 

Position #2

We are looking for a teacher for our Intensive Study Program and a choreographer for our Dance Company (competition team). This position requires 1-2 nights per week of teaching, plus Saturday afternoons for choreography, and rehearsals. Must be able to teach a high level of technical mastery in Jazz, Contemporary, Acro, Hip Hop, (or any combination of these skills, not all are required from one teacher). The position also includes administrative duties such as picking and editing music, picking costumes, helping at performances and supporting students at competitions. Wage is negotiable based on experience.

Position #3

Classical Ballet Teacher. This position is one to two nights per week. Must have a strong understanding of classical ballet technique and pedagogy. Cecchetti method is preferred, but not a must. You will be teaching students ages 6-18+. The opportunity is also available to choreograph for our dance company. The position also includes administrative duties such as picking and editing music, picking costumes, helping at performances and supporting students at competitions. Wage is negotiable based on experience.​
